The United States Supreme Court today heard arguments on gun control in Washington, DC.

Gun control doesn't work, rent control doesn't work. In the end people should be free to exercise their rights. That comes with responsibilities too.

It seems pretty clear to me that the DC crime rate has not gone down as a result of this ban.

Criminals have guns. The only people that are following the law are people like me. I am not allowed to have a concealed weapon but the criminal doesn't care about that.

I actually believe that everyone around me would be safer if I had a weapon. My training and willingness to defend others makes that true.

Count me among the people opposed to the DC ban.
