When I recently heard former Mexican President Fox argue that the United States of America was basically getting a fair trade with Mexico economically I could not believe it. Not only did he say it -- he clearly meant it. Immigration is a major issue for the United States and for California.  The Sierra Club and others want to pretend that it is not for political reasons but it is. It impacts our schools, transportation, economy, social services, and lives.  I understand when people disagree about what to do about the problems but I will never understand when people pretend that immigration patterns don't cause any problem at all. My criticism is actually of the Mexican government.  They are not doing a good job of providing for the people that live there. The people of Mexico are proving that by voting with their feet.
