Pens made right here in Woodland

Check out this Woodland kid that is building a business out of making pens.

What a great story.  He takes a woodshop class and turns it into a business at age 14.  This is why I love vocational education -- or whatever the term of the day is.

This story makes my day.

You hit the nail on the head. The California education system has taken a wrong turn to substantiate flawed testing and to placate UC admissions. Most children need practical skills to prepare for life after high school. Vocational education, along with physical education and visual and performing arts, need to be part of a balanced public school experience.
