You may be safer on death row than in Iraq By Matt Rexroad on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 @ 6:16 PM :: 3 Comments :: Blog   This whole death penalty thing is driving me nuts.  It is a huge waste of tax dollars we could spend on anything else. Check out this article from the AP. 666 inmates on death row.  This means probably $70 million in prison costs and probably four times this much in legal costs.  Let's stop the madness. You are more likely to die of natural causes or suicide on death row than you are by execution. Pathetic.  When are we going to stop pretending that putting someone on death row is being tough on crime.  It is really just a waste of taxpayer money.
