Historic?

I like to learn about history but am far from a history nut.  Woodland has a ton of history.  We even have some people locally that claim that the property they own is historic.  Whatever.

So tell me this.  Yankee Stadium is about as close to baseball heaven as you can get.  I would say that is more important that Cooperstown in many ways.

So locally I get grief for wanting to tear down the Hoblit dealership because it is really just an old barn but I don't hear a thing about tearing down Yankee Stadium. Eh?

Well...yeah! There's some good memories in that ole "barn." Geez.....

Actually it is 3 long barns built next to each other with the walls between them removed. It use to be 'Electric Garage Company'...but not sure of the history. My grandfather once told me that it had something to do with Woodland’s old electric trolley system (which I believe rails are still buried under main street), but I was just a kid when he told me that…so I am not sure.

We bought our first "family" vehicle there from "Buck" a 1994 Plymouth Grand Caravan. Next step was an application to be a soccer mom....not.

Ugh! It wasn't one barn; it wasn't three barns. It wasn’t trolleys. It was converting gas head lamps on cars to electric and maintaining the electric automobiles of the early 20th century…ergo, ‘The Electric Garage Company.

Cal…I still have most of the old car orders. Your soccer mom application can easily be retrieved and processed!

Was Buck's last name Dupree? I think he passed but he was a great salesman. As soon as I move to Davis you can activate the "Soccer Mom" app.

I'd rather get a root canal.

Yes. I believe Buck died several years back of a heart attack. (oh heavens, wouldn't it be terrible if we both think he is dead and he is actually alive and well?!...)

If you are out there, Buck: Sorry about that....
