The best political read out there for state politics and business news is Fox & Hounds Daily.

This is good stuff.
Biden is smart

I always thought Senator Biden was smart.  If he was the nominee this race for President would be a whole lot different.

Biden is

1) smart
2) great at debates
3) has experience
4) has a great story
5) a really good attack dog

Good choice.
This kind of hurts my heart

When anyone makes comments on this website - they get sent to me via e-mail. I can't tell who makes the comments but I can see what the comment is. Some of them -- like those from Yolovoter, Diamondmaker, Yolo CalVet and Charlie-san are pretty easy to pick out.

Today a post I made last September about Chris Manzer got a comment.

You can see it here.

I will be saying a prayer tonight for the family of Chris Manzer.  He was a good man.
Elkhorn

This afternoon Dotty, Dave, and I headed out to the Elkhorn Fire Station to speak with members of the Fire District Board of Directors and the Board of Directors of the Reclamation District.

We have some work to do out there. I am looking forward to doing something to help those people that I represent that don't live in Woodland.

It was a great meeting.  Dave has done a great job on this.
This is something to eliminate

Federal tax dollars should not be spent to sponsor the political party conventions.  You can read this article from CNN.

Government needs to be smaller and more efficient.  Eliminating this part of it would be a step in the right direction.
Sacramento Power & Influence
Friday, August 22, 2008 :: 0 Comments
The Sacramento Bee alert called my attention to this list in Sacramento Magazine of the 100 most influential people in Sacramento.

I find it interesting that not one member of the Board of Supervisors or City Council is on this list.

That really is the way it should be.  I get a kick out of lists like this that load up on people that are elected officials.  I belive that many times a person can shape their community by not being in public office.
Costco -- Stars in Backpacks for Kids
Friday, August 22, 2008 :: 0 Comments
The Daily Democrat beat me to it.  Read the article here.

I have been out doing other things and could not get this up and posted.  This morning Costco made a huge donation of Backpacks for Kids in two Woodland schools.

Thank you to Costco and the Daily Democrat for being such wonderful partners in making this program happen.

Note:   We also have landed some major sponsors for the program next year too.

Tomorrow I am headed down to Freeman Park to check out the Woodland Tomato Festival.

Check out their website here.

I just found out they had one a few minutes ago.
Sac Builders' Exchange Event
Thursday, August 21, 2008 :: 0 Comments
Tonight Jenn and I went to Wilton for an event put on by the Sacramento Builders' Exchange.  Great event. Great people. Great food.  Jenn even loved it.

These folks have been really cool to work with on things.

Met a guy that told me he got pulled over twice in the same day on Gibson Road in Woodland.  I am sure it was Officer Krause.

The only other Yolo County person I saw there was the guy running against Cabaldon for Mayor of West Sacramento.

I had several people come up to thank me for writing that piece in the Sacramento Bee this weekend on the needle exchange.  That was cool.
Ok this is strange

I have been slammed all day.  Usually, my readership goes way way down when I don't post much.

Today I post something that was passed to me by "Dog Paul Davis" and then a pass through of the post for Flash.  We have more than 11,000 hits.

It could be any number of things. I was on the channel 13 last night.  The Flashreport might have brought some of you out......but seriously...what are you looking at?
